POTTERS CORNER

Join us at our brand new Potters Corner. Whether you are looking for something new to try, a fun day with friends or perhaps you want to make a personalized keepsake gift for your loved one!
Each session includes 1.5 hour time slot in which you can get creative and make your very own masterpiece. We'll set you up with your wheel, equipment and clay, and give you a quick brief on how to get the best results for your work. Once you have finished your very own unique creation leave it with us for between 7-14 days to be fired in our on own site kiln. You can come back to collect and why not put your artistic skills to go and paint* your masterpiece. (*painting charge additionally)
Terms and Conditions
- You will need to leave the wheel, bats, tools completely clean after use, you have 15 minutes allocated to do this.
- No clay to be washed down the sink.
- You are required to cover the cost of any damage caused to the equipment that occurs while your using it. This includes wheel, splash pot, and any tools or wheel bats.
- You must be 14 years of age and over to use the wheel.
- Bookings cannot be cancelled once made, all booking fees are non-refundable.
- Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
- Dogs are not permitted in the Potters area.
- Cherry Hill Garden & Landscape accept no liability for any injuries caused.
- Appropriate clothing is to be worn as stains may occur, for which we accept no liability.
- Not suitable for wheelchair access.
Health and Safety
- Practical clothes / footwear MUST be worn. Alternatively, aprons can be hired at £2 each, when booking or feel bring to bring your own.
- Long hair MUST be tied back.
- Rings/ Watches/ Bracelets or any other jewellery MUST be removed.
- Under 16’s MUST be supervised at ALL times by a responsible adult.
- Make sure the potter's wheel is turned off. Position your body around the potter's wheel, keeping elbows in and not over-exerting or slumping your body over the work.
- Do not overload the wheel head with clay or force it to stop, as this will shorten the life of the motor.
- Foot pedal must be fully depressed backwards “off” before turning wheel on.
- When cleaning the wheel, inspecting parts, and between periods of use, always turn off the on/off switch and confirm that the power indicator light is off. Then unplug the wheel from its power source.
· Keep tools and small parts out of reach of small children.
- Do not leave wheel running unattended.
- Stop operation of the wheel if you see or smell smoke, or if you hear unusual noises.
- Do not attempt to move or hold the wheel during operation, or while the power is on as this could cause serious injury.
· Equipment must be lifted by two people, never attempt to lift the wheel by yourself.
· Do not let the wheel stand in water.
